Darkroom Tray Develop
A film app's print step, "Safelight — Print 3 of 12", under a red safelight: a fibre print lies in a ribbed developing tray with bamboo tongs on the rim. Rocking the tray sends a wave of developer across it and the black-and-white image comes up, shadows first, unevenly where the liquid front reaches last; then the stop bath, a FIXED stamp, and the room light flickers on to show the print in white light before it slides out and a fresh sheet slides in. Drag sideways to rock the tray yourself: the faster you rock, the faster the print develops. A timer rolls the development seconds and three pills mark Develop, Stop and Fix.
