Ink Bleed Reveal
A sheet of warm, grainy paper with a large print area marked only by four crop marks, a tracked-capitals "Field Journal" header and a caption below in a sturdy book serif with a bold italic title. A glossy bead of ink hangs over the paper, falls and splashes a ring of droplets, and the next photo of a lake or waterfall bleeds into the print through an organic ink stain: a blue-black front that blooms out the instant the drop lands, with soft lobes, blotches and a feathery fringe, dark and wet at its edge, with the photo coming through behind it in a mottle. The print keeps a ragged watercolour edge with a thin darker line, each photo's caption rises in once its ink lands, and at the end of the loop the prints dry back to paper in blotches.
