Light Table Loupe
A glowing light table of twelve 35 mm slides and a black loupe that magnifies whatever it is moved over. The table is a softly lit cool white panel (#EEF1F4 to #CFD6DD) under a black header reading "CONTACT 04 · 12 FRAMES"; the slides sit in a 3 × 4 grid of cardboard-white mounts with their frame number and "OCT 84" printed in a small mono, each holding a backlit transparency drawn as gradient art (harbor at dusk, wheat field, open sea, night street, desert road, glacier lake, northern lights, pink beach, alpine snow, tulip rows, city at dusk, fern forest) whose colour spills onto the table around it. The loupe (a 128 pt black housing with a chrome lip) shows the table 2.2 times larger under its glass, with grain, a vignette, colour fringes and a glass highlight, and it pulls focus as it lands on a slide; a tap circles a slide in red grease pencil. Below the grid a dark slide viewer projects the slide under the loupe on its 1.4 : 1 screen, with its frame number and title under it, next to the loupe's dashed home ring.
