Many blocks here are recreated from interface designs that their authors published somewhere: a shot, a pin, a post. This page says how we credit that work, and how to get a credit corrected or a block taken down if the work is yours.
How a block is made and credited
- The code of every block is written for Native Cook. Nothing is copied out of a design file, the photos in the demos come from Unsplash, and the product and company names you see in them are made up.
- A block that follows someone’s design says so on its page: Design links to where we found it, and Author names who made it.
- Sometimes the page we found only shows who posted the design, not who made it. The block then reads “Not known · posted by …” rather than guess.
- A credit is a thank-you, not a partnership: it does not mean the author works with Native Cook or has approved the block.
If a block is based on your work
You decide what happens to it: the credit corrected (your name as you want it shown, and a link to your profile or to the original), or the block taken down. Send one request per block. Every block page with a credit has an Ask for a correction or removal link under its details that brings you here with the block filled in.
If you would rather write, support@nativecook.dev reaches the same person; include the block’s address, a link that shows the design is yours, and which of the two you want.
What happens next
- A person reads your request, usually within 2 business days, and answers at the email address you gave.
- If you asked for removal, the block comes off the site first and questions come after: its page, its video and its prompts are unpublished while we look at the request.
- Unless the request is plainly a mistake (the wrong block, or a design that is someone else’s), the block stays down for good: it is deleted from the catalog, its video from our storage and its code from our public source repository. We write back when that is done.
- A corrected credit is made the same way and shows on the site within a day.
If we credited the wrong person
If you know who really made a design we credit to someone else, or to nobody, tell us at the same address with a link to the original. We would rather be corrected than keep a wrong name up.
