Abacus Expense Counter
A weekly budget screen, "Tally", built around a walnut abacus: five brass rods (Food, Transit, Fun, Home, Other) each carry ten lacquered beads, and every bead pushed to the right is one purchase at that category's price. Flick a bead and it glides with momentum and friction, knocks into the stack and bounces off it with a light click; the rod's amount, the week's total ($386.40 at rest), what is left of the $520 budget and the daily pace roll to their new numbers on digit wheels, and each category's meter springs. A week strip below shows Monday to Friday spent and today's bar growing with every logged bead; "Undo today" glides every logged bead back.
