Marbling Comb
Paper marbling on a dark lapis tray of size. Each tap drops paint that spreads into a disc and pushes every colour already floating outwards, so drops on drops become rings; holding a finger still keeps dripping rings in turn. Dragging a steel stylus, or a walnut comb whose tines span the tray, pulls the paint into feathered, combed patterns with a fine dark edge on every colour, under a soft sheen and grain. A row of seven paints (bone, madder, ochre, cobalt, sage, rose, ink), a Stylus/Comb switch and a Print button sit at the bottom; Print lays a cream sheet over the tray and peels it back from its corner to show the pattern taken up on its underside, leaving the size clean.
