Slide to Answer Cord
An incoming call answered by lifting a real receiver: an ivory bakelite handset hangs on its coiled cord in a dark room lit from the upper left, swinging and buzzing at each ring, above an iOS call screen ("Mara Lindqvist", "mobile", "Lift the receiver to answer", red Decline and green Accept). Lift it to answer: it stays up, Accept fades, Decline slides to the middle as End, Mute, Keypad and Speaker rise above it and the timer runs. Pull it down to decline, or to hang up during the call. The coil bunches when lifted and stretches thin when pulled, its far half-turns in shadow and the receiver casting a soft shadow on the wall. The buttons do the same for a tap or VoiceOver.
