Pendulum Wave
Fifteen brass pendulums hang in a row from a walnut frame on a walnut table, each on a V of string, seen in perspective with soft shadows on the table and a thin warm light trail behind each bob. Their lengths are tuned so that, released together, they drift in and out of step: travelling waves, a snake, two and three interleaved rows, apparent chaos, and after thirty seconds the whole row comes back into one line. Drag sideways and a brass comb gathers the bobs and pulls them aside; let go to release them. A tap turns the camera to the next view (a three-quarter view that slowly sways, a view from above that shows the snake, and a view along the swing), morphing between them. "Pendulum Wave" and "Fifteen bobs, one 30 s cycle" sit above a hairline that fills over the cycle with the seconds since release; the views and "Drag sideways to release · Tap to change view" sit below.
