Compass Needle Nav
"Northbound", a hiking app whose tab bar is a compass in a dock: a knurled housing, a bezel with degrees, a red-and-cream needle floating in tinted damping fluid under a glass dome, and the four tabs round it (Map at N, Trips at E, Gear at S, Me at W). Tap a tab and the needle swings to it through the liquid, overshooting and settling slowly while an air bubble drifts against the spin, and the pages, hung on a wheel round the compass, swing so the new page comes in from its tab's side. Drag round the bezel to turn the needle and scrub the pages; let go and it settles on the nearest tab.
